What formula will compute the number of hours and minutes between the Start Time and the End time in each row?

(Each cell is formatted as number, custom, type: h:mm AM/PM)

Start time End time
12:45 PM 3:14 PM
10:20 AM 12:10 PM
10:20 AM 12:30 PM
9:30 AM 11:30 AM
10:00 AM 12:24 PM
11:20 AM 1:40 PM
11:27 AM 1:42 PM
1:35 PM 3:51 PM
10:30 AM 12:38 PM
11:55 AM 2:05 PM
10:05 AM 12:00 PM
12:00 PM 2:10 PM
10:00 AM 12:50 PM
11:55 AM 1:40 PM
12:45 PM 2:58 PM
12:45 PM 3:13 PM

It seems to work to use
=B2-A2
and format the result using
Home > Number > More Number formats >
Post by GARYWC
Time > 13:30
This assumes that midnight can never be between the start and end.

Column of results:
2:29
2:00
2:10
2:00
2:24
2:20
2:15
2:16
2:08
2:10
1:55
2:10
2:50
1:45
2:13
2:28

(I use Excel 2010.)

I see you still haven't got the hang of cross-posting instead of double
posting!

To cross-post just put all the groups separated by a comma in the 'Destination'
field! This way you won't have to bounce between groups for replies because all
groups posted to receive them. Also lets other not following 'other' groups see
the replies posted there in the group they do follow.

Double posting has long time been considered "bad practice" in online help
forums, and is why cross-posting was implemented. People who monitor these
groups *donate* their time/effort/energy to help *YOU*. This also isn't the 1st
time this has been mentioned to you and so, given the number of years and the
number of times you've sought help here, ..don't you think your 'stepping up'
is *long overdue*?
